A Home Away From Homelessness

A Home Away From Homelessness (Home Away or HA) seeks to radically alter the trajectory of our students lives by providing a safe and supportive environment that fosters their individual strengths, creativity and abilities. Home Away strives to break the cycle of homelessness and hopelessness for young people in San Francisco and Marin. Our mission is to give homeless children and youth a respite from the ravages of abuse, neglect, and poverty to forge a new future. This is done by focusing on addressing the needs of the whole child. We strive not only to improve the academic performance of these youths, but also to immerse them in a structured, adventurous, supportive community that fosters a healthy mind, healthy body, healthy spirit, and healthy community.
