A New York Experience in the Bay Area. The Right Pizza on the Left Coast -- San Jose/Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. On July 1, 2017, A Slice of New York became the first Silicon Valley brick-and-mortar business to become a worker-cooperative (co-op). What makes co-ops unique is they are businesses both owned and governed by their workers. As a native of Manhattan, I had pizza all the time. When I moved out to San Jose to work at Cisco, I did not find anything that I felt honored what I grew up with. Our original location was modeled after the typical pizza shop in NYC (small, counter seating), has lots of fun NY visuals that are from real NY icons, and is kept very clean.
