Abacus Ark was founded in 1971 by Angela Carrington, in a small room attached to a Church on Harley Street. In 1981, her daughter, Laura, joined the nursery, and in 1981, they opened The Toddlers Inn Nursery School in St. Johns Wood, North West London. Lauras son, Anthony, who attended Toddlers Inn Nursery School, went on to study at Durham University, where he earned his bachelors and a masters in Mathematics before beginning a successful finance career.
