Region wide service to support families/whanau that care for someone with a mental distress, addiction or suicide. Our aim is to give families the strength and skills they need for a better life experience at home, in the community and at work. Able family/whanau services are located region wide with fieldworkers who offer a free, confidential and mobile service of information, education, support and advocacy. Family/whanau services also include support for children or young people affected by a parent/siblings mental health and/or addiction with the CUMIA programme which can be a group based or individual programme. Able offers support to people affected by a mental illness through the Focus Vocational services. Community based Activity Centres are available in Alexandra and Dunedin encouraging people to learn new skills and reconnect with their communities through a range of onsite and offsite activities.
