Academie voor Ambulancezorg

The Academy for Ambulance Care (In Dutch: Academie voor Ambulancezorg) is the nationwide educating and training facility for all ambulance professionals in the Netherlands. The 3 main target groups are: ambulance nurses, ambulance drivers and the dispatchers working in the ambulance control rooms. The students are sent from the regional ambulance services (RAV) to follow their training. For novice professionals, we offer the so-called initial programs. For postgraduates the AvA, in collaboration with other educational institutes, offers most up to date courses as PHTLS, AMLS, PEPP, GEMS, MIMMS, POET, etc. In Holland every ambulance care professional has to recertify every three years by passing an professional check. For the Netherlands weve developed a full day assessment for the 3 target groups. This assessment is performed in a laboratory setting.
