Since our inception in 1992, Acton Ostry Architects (AOA) has demonstrated a continuing commitment to the making of architecture that responds thoughtfully to local topography, climate, culture and to lessons learned from buildings inherited from the past. Russell Acton and Mark Ostry, the founding principals, lead the firm with three principals, five principal associates, two associates and 34 architectural staff, two of whom are LEED general associates, and one a LEED accredited professional. The values of our practice embody a consideration to sustainable design that is without wilful extravagance. Our design approach incorporates new technologies and materials that contribute to the realization of projects rooted in a considered, modernist idiom that offer sustenance to those that inhabit and experience them.
