AED Legal Centre

The Association of Employees with Disability Inc. (AED) is a disability organisation located in the Melbourne CBD. In 2008, the Association established the AED Legal Centre, a specialist community legal centre providing free legal services to people with disability. Our mission is to champion the rights of people with a disability who experience disadvantage in education and/or employment and give them access to the justice system. We do this through a strategic combination of information, education, negotiation and as a last resort litigation. When the task of meeting with an employer brings fear, anxiety and concern about losing a job, AED is there to support the employee and speak on their behalf to the employer. When children with disabilities and their parents struggle to negotiate appropriate supports from education providers, AED is there to support them, reminding school communities of their obligations.
