As market and distribution area manager, AGGM plans the Austrian gas infrastructure in cooperation with the gas and electricity grid operators using an integrated approach that takes all energy sectors into account. This ensures that the gas infrastructure is available to meet demand at any time. The integration of renewable gases into the energy system is a major obejctive for AGGM. Feed-in concepts for renewable gases such as biomethane and hydrogen as well as the repurposing of existing gas pipelines for the regional and cross-border transport of hydrogen are therefore key planning principles.
