Since 2010 The Akili Group has been empowering small-scale farmers in rural Kenya in creating and adding value to their produce. We partner with small-scale producers in value adding activities and programmes at a personal and community level. Our vision is to be a catalyst for wealth creation at the community level, and to upgrade the capacities of members of community to realize profit at farm level and for groups (cooperatives; self-help groups; community investment groups) from small-scale agricultural activities. Our mission is to co-invest with communities and social investors, donors and government to realize improved production efficiencies, volume (aggregation) and value addition benefits through an entire value chain approach.
