Akula Media was formed in 2006 under the mentorship of Hollywood Icon - Writer, Director - the late Michael Cimino as a corporate conduit for the writing team of T. Rafael Cimino and Shainee Gabel. In 2014 Akula teamed up with Home Box Office to curate a portfolio of film projects ranging in a wide scope of genres, targeting diverse audiences. Since then it has blossomed into one of the entertainment industrys prime vehicles for film and television development. In 2021 Akula Literary Partners was formed. This revitalized structure includes new writers - including Oscar winner, Cuba Gooding, Junior - new energy, with an influx of capital; and a new creative vision to tackle a variety of mediums and genres. With an ambitious pallet of projects, Akula is poised to set a higher standard for emerging film and television properties - all with delivery to a wide variety of platforms.
