In 2017 Al-Haj Group of Companies Pakistan has joined hands with renowned steel tycoon of China HEBEI Xingang Iron & Steel Group to work together in steel sector of Pakistan. Al-Haj Asia Star Steel was established in June 2017, with planned production capacity of 2 million tons to be completed in two phases. At the present, it is the largest steel production, manufacturing, smelting and sales company in Pakistan under China-Pakistan joint venture, and also the largest Chinese funded Steel Company entering in Pakistan. The Head quarter is located at East Service Road I-9/3 Industrial Zone, Islamabad. In the first phase of project a 500,000 tons high-quality steel bar per annum will be produce. The production plant is located at Gadoon Industrial Estate, KPK Province
