Al-Khoei Foundation

The Al-Khoei Foundation is a non-profit organisation that comprises a series of charitable institutions in the UK, USA, Canada, France, Pakistan, India and Thailand. Founded in 1989 by His Eminence the late Imam Sayed Abulqasim Al-Khoei, the Foundations aim is to look after the welfare of the Muslim communities, and Shia Muslims in particular, and promote education, engage in dialogue, enhance religious understanding and provide aid and support to the needy. The Al-Khoei Foundation holds a General Consultative Status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC), and runs several cultural and community centres, schools, semanries, libraries, a university and various other projects worldwide. Moreover, it is regularly consulted by governmental and non-governmental bodies on a number of issues such as community cohesion, faith matters and interfaith relations.
