Albany Firebirds

The Albany Firebirds have a rich history in the world of arena football. Originally founded in 1990, our team consistently captivated fans with its dynamic on-field performances and dedication to excellence for over a decade winning the coveted 1999 Arenabowl Championship over the Orlando Predators with a victory of 59-48! Unfortunately, a little over a 1 year later the franchise was relocated to Indiana on October 19, 2000. Over 20 years later the spirit of the Albany Firebirds is more alive than ever with the help of local ownership, political leaders, and most importantly our dedicated fans! We are proud to announce we are making our return to the historic Arena Football League in the spring of 2024 and will be playing our home games in downtown Albany at the MVP Arena the same building that the Firebirds played in over 20 years ago!
