Allen & Son Moving and Storage, Inc. was founded in 1991 after Allen earned a degree in Political Science from Coppin State University. After serving in the United States Army, he had plans to attend Howard University School of Law. Due to limited financial resources, his plan did not materialize. From a borrowed five-hundred-dollar capital, Allen Burrus was able to purchase a truck and he started as local movers soliciting business for U-Haul customers. During that time, his son Demetrick was fifteen years old. Allen Burrus and his son had their first moving and storage service contract for $60 from a family with a four-bedroom home. Since then, the company Allen & Son Moving, and Storage become a referral to new customers.
