Althams Butchers is one of the oldest and largest independent family owned and run butchers in the country. We specialise in quality meat and meat products for wholesale, serving hotels, restaurants (including several Michelin Star establishments), pub chains, conferencing venues and catering companies UK wide. We also offer home deliveries through our online shop, www.theproperbutchers.co.uk We operate a state of the art plant in Morecambe, Lancashire. Our Location on the edge of the Lake District, Lancashire and Yorkshire gives us access to some of the best cattle and lamb markets in the UK. Today James and Richard Altham the great, great, grandsons of the founder run the business and as a company, whose origins were farm based; and indeed today the fourth and fifth generation of the family are still involved on a daily basis in farming and butchery.
