Altoona Center for Nursing Care

Altoona Center for Nursing Care conveniently located in Downtown Altoona is a 120-bed Skilled Nursing Center. The first floor houses a Rehabilitation Unit, complete with physical, occupational, and speech-language therapies. The Center for Nursing Care has about 140 attending physicians, who are credentialed following guidelines for long-term care. Another 20 consulting physicians are available. We employ two case managers, a director of nursing, and an assistant director of nursing. We also feature: A Restorative Program, which offers retraining in daily activities such as ambulation and social dining An Activities Program, which works to bring each resident to his or her highest level of function A Social Services Program, which serves the resident as well as family and friends Each resident has an attending physician.
