Alzheimer Society of Durham Region

The Alzheimer Society of Durham Region provides services and supports to those living with Alzheimers disease and other dementias and their care partners in Durham Region. Family Support offers navigation of the health-care system, education about the disease, coping techniques, caregiver support groups and therapeutic counselling. The MINT Memory Clinic Team works with primary-care physicians to administer comprehensive geriatric assessments which assist in the diagnosis of dementia, and assist in the management of changes in behaviour. Enhanced Care programs deliver specialized programming developed at the Reitman Centre for Alzheimers Support and Training (Sinai Health Centre) to address the complex needs and challenges of care partners and family members taking care of persons living with dementia at home.
