The American Corners Program is a United States Department of State-sponsored initiative inaugurated worldwide more than 17 years ago. Since 2004, the U.S. has launched almost 700 American Corners in approximately 70 countries. The American Corner program has come to the Library of the University of Sulaymaniyah (UOS). The objective of this program is to establish affiliations between Iraqi and U.S. institutions and individuals that promote and facilitate linkages and relationships across a range of fields.
