Amref Health Africa in West Africa

Founded in Kenya in 1957, Amref Health Africa is Africas largest public health NGO. For over 60 years, Amref Health Africa has been fighting for equitable access to healthcare, with priority given to vulnerable groups such as young people, women, and children. Across 35 countries, the organization deploys 178 health programs, even in the most isolated areas of sub-Saharan Africa. Amref Health Africas programs and projects have benefited 110 million people, including 80 million young people, women, and children. Its actions are based on 3 major pillars, including the training of healthcare personnel, access to quality healthcare, and the improvement of healthcare coverage. To expand its presence, Amref Health Africa opened a regional office for West Africa in Senegal in July 2011. This regional office covers countries of operation such as Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Cote dIvoire, Togo, and Benin.
