Anchor Bar Frederick

On a Friday night in 1964, Dominic Bellissimo had just finished his bartending shift at the now-famous Anchor Bar Restaurant in Buffalo, NY, when his friends arrived with ravenous appetites. With the kitchen closed and only leftovers to work with, Dominics mom, Teressa, had an idea to satisfy their hunger. Teressa gathered up the chicken wingsparts of the chicken that went into the stockpot for soupdeep fried the wings, and finished them off with her secret sauce. Her wings were an instant hit, and the original buffalo wing was born! In the 56 years since then, Anchor Bar and its wings have flown across North America to include more than 17 locations, and we have taken flight in Frederick. In just two years, we have received back-to-back awards for the Best Wings in Frederick while delivering on our mission to bring the Best Wings in the World to Maryland and beyond!
