The Animal Welfare Society Stellenbosch (AWSS) is involved in all aspects of animal welfare. We provide shelter for unwanted, stray, and abandoned animals, promote an efficient adoption programme, prosecute animal cruelty cases, and regularly address schools and communities on the challenges of animal welfare and the benefits of a healthy, sterilised pet population. We also run a busy on-site animal clinic for lower income groups and frequently visit underprivileged areas to treat and admit sick and injured animals and pets for sterilisation.
