The real story of Apple Farm Service started with Henry Apple in his farms shop. A farmer with his fathers mechanical abilities, Henrys reputation to help neighbors with their farm machinery grew fast. He gained national attention in the mid 1940s after a local newspaper printed a photo of Henry. He was sitting on a forage harvester he constructed with a world war two half track, Massey Harris rear end, Chevy steering axles, and a Gehl two row corn attachment, one of the first self-propelled harvester.
