ARA VARTANIAN

Stones and jewelry contain a certain magnetism that can hardly be explained. As a designer, I feel that every stone carries a unique aura of intensity and a geological mistery. Ara Vartanian is part of a family affair with the jewelry world. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, he was raised in the midst of precious stones that his father traded in Sao Paulo. Ara graduated in economics at Boston University and moved to New York in 1998 to work in the financial market. He left the life of a Nasdaq trader behind when he decided to return to Brazil to honor the Vartanian tradition. He started working in the family business in 2000 and soon decided to fly solo. In 2002, his eponymous jewelry brand was born. As a designer, Ara Vartanians style of creating fine jewelry is very unique: he captures the essence of each stone.
