Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA)

The Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA) is a specialized Arab scientific organization operating within the framework of the League of Arab States. It focuses on nuclear sciences and their peaceful applications, aiming to foster joint Arab scientific efforts and keep pace with global scientific and technological advancements in this field. The agency is also dedicated to raising scientific and technical awareness among Arab citizens about nuclear sciences and their peaceful uses, striving to create a qualitative scientific and technological shift in the course of Arab civilizational development. The AAEA began its actual work on February 15, 1989. Its permanent headquarters is located in Tunis, the capital of the Republic of Tunisia. The agency currently has fourteen member states: Jordan, Bahrain, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Mauritania, and Yemen.
