And thats just the beginning. Arkitektura was a pioneer in making design accessible to the American public by bringing leading European brands to the US. Arkitektura was founded in 1984 in Detroit, Michigan, by Andrew Fisher, a graduate of the Cranbrook Academy of Art and Ronald Saarinen Swanson the grandson of Eliel Saarinen and nephew of Eero Saarinen. Arkitektura quickly established itself as a premier contemporary furniture and lighting showroom. In 1999, Arkitektura expanded to the West Coast and has since opened four more diverse locations in San Francisco.
