About Us

The ASEAN-Australia Strategic Youth Partnership (AASYP) seeks to build on the strong relationship between ASEAN and Australia by inspiring the next generation of scholars, business people, public servants and social entrepreneurs to engage with the region. In 2014, ASEAN and Australia elevated their relationship to a Strategic Partnership at the government to government level. The creativity, ambition and power of youth should be harnessed to tackle regional challenges and areas of mutual interest. AASYP aims to inspire Australian and ASEAN youth to engage with each other to learn more about the region, ASEAN affairs and ASEAN-Australia cooperation. It also aims to bring greater visibility to the contributions of youth in strengthening the ASEAN-Australia relationship, to encourage collaboration amongst youth actively working to address regional challenges, and to share opportunities
