Aspen Pharmacare Canada, a branch of Aspen Holdings, was founded in 2014 to offer the Aspen Groups expanding portfolio of pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare products to Canadians. Aspen Holdings is a South African-based supplier of branded and generic pharmaceuticals in more than 150 countries across the world, providing products renowned for their quality, efficacy and affordability. Aspen is proud of its longstanding commitment to social responsibility. In the early 2000s, Aspen was granted a licence by the originators to develop and manufacture generic antiretrovirals (ARVs). The first generic ARVs were launched by Aspen in 2003 and the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) accredited Aspens Port Elizabeth-based manufacturing facility in South Africa to manufacture the product.
