Atchison County Sheriffs Office

The Atchison County Sheriffs Office, located in Atchison, Kansas, has over 30 employees. This office consist of two divisions: Operations and Detentions, both overseen by Sheriff Jack Laurie and Undersheriff Toby Smith. The Operations Division, is comprised of Patrol, Investigations, Narcotics Investigations, Records Management, Concealed Carry Permit Processing, Offender Registration, Civil Process Service, and Administrative Services. The Atchison County Sheriffs Office is the only agency in Atchison County to have a fulltime narcotics detective, focusing on the illegal narcotics trafficking in all of Atchison County. The Detentions Division, supervised by Captain Travis Wright, includes Jail, Court Security, Facility Security, and Inmate Transportation Unit.
