Athi River Steel Plant Limited was established in the early 1990s and commenced operations from its manufacturing facilities in Athi River, 30 miles from Nairobi, in 1998. Athi Steel today produces a full range of round, square, twisted and TMT bars and flats, angles, channels, I-beams Tee and Zed sections. A variety of foundry products such as ingot Moulds, man-hole covers, couplings for rolling mills & other industrial castings. A full series of round, square and rectangular black and galvanized hollow sections (pipes) are also manufactured. The wire unit produces an assortment of nails, weld mesh and BRC including A252 and A393 which are special products for bridges and heavy construction including dams. Athi Steel also manufactures a range of MS bolts & nuts and nails. Oxygen and Nitrogen gases are also produced.
