Atlantic Theater Company is dedicated to producing great plays simply and truthfully while using an artistic ensemble. Our company was founded in 1985 by students of David Mamet and William H. Macy and since then, grown into a preeminent theater recognized internationally for excellence. This reputation is the result of the consistent quality and ambitious scope of our work, which includes world and NYC premieres, modern adaptations of classic plays, and international co-productions. We also cultivate writers at all stages of their careers through new play development activities like readings, workshops, commissions, and premiere productions at Stage 2. The acting ensemble that created the company which includes some of Americas finest theater artists remains an integral part of Atlantic.
