More than 70 years serving Naval Industry Mondego Shipyard (ENM) was found in September 1944. Shipyard is located in Figueira da Foz, near the entrance of Mondego river and Commercial Port. In 1944 the shipyard had two slipways and workshops for wooden shipbuilding. Three years later was built the first fishing trawler, with 71.43 meters length. Since then began a phase of expansion of shipyards, with the construction of two slipways for vessels up to 100 meters and a slope for the repair of ships.
