Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College is a co-educational, non-selective school providing for pupils aged from 11 to 18 years of age. It is located close to the town centre and draws its pupils from a wide range of backgrounds and from more than 25 primary schools in Bangor and the wider North Down area. The school is over-subscribed for entry to year 8 and enrolment has risen to around 1800 pupils, due largely to increasing numbers in the sixth form.
