BAPS (Become A Problem-Solver)

BAPS was founded in March of 2024 for the purpose of promoting the major of systems engineering to students at the University of Virginia. With now over 150 members, BAPS has transformed into a thriving service organization that employs systems thinking to solve problems within the UVA community. Through facilitating STEM-based projects with service organizations across Grounds, BAPS members have the opportunity to combine engineering with real-world service to others. By each member having the chance to be mentored by current systems engineering students within their project teams, the hope is also that BAPS members can get a sense of what systems engineers often do in their classes and careers, and that they will ultimately be inspired to become a problem-solver. *Non-Affiliation Statement: Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a ...
