Base Hospital Homagama

Homagama base hospital is situated around 18 kilometers away from the Colombo in the western province in Sri Lanka. It is only about 500m away from the high-level road which links the capital city Colombo with Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces. It is only about 2 kilometers away from the Kottawa exit of the southern highway. Base hospital Homagama was donated in 1946 by Mr. Semaneris Appuhamy , a well known philanthropist of the area. Subsequently, on the 26th January 1997, the Homagama Hospital was upgraded to a Base Hospital by the government to meet the health care needs of a rapidly urbanizing area of the Western Province. Hospital is under the western provincial health ministry. The bed strength of the hospital is about 400. And the hospital cater to a population of 400000.
