Beo Cista Energija d.o.o. a special purpose vehicle whose shareholders are Veolia, France, Itochu Corporation, Japan and Marguerite, Luxembourg-based fund entered into a public-private partnership with the City of Belgrade, Serbias capital, on 29 September 2017. Under the DBFO (Design Build Finance and Operate) model, Beo Cista Energija is responsible for design, construction, finance and operation of the new Vinca waste management center in order to provide municipal and construction waste disposal and treatment service for a period of 25 years. This goes beyond the typical benefits of DBFO schemes. It also allows the city to bundle the closure and remediation of the Vinca dumpsite which is not principally commercially viable as a stand-alone project: -the remediation and long-term aftercare of the Vinca landfill, -the diversion of min. 200,000 tons/year of demolition waste to a new recycling facility producing materials for construction and backfilling, -the diversion of min....
