BFDC [Bangladesh Film Development Corporation]

Bangladesh Film Development Corporation more widely known as BFDC is a government owned agency. In April the 3rd 1957, as the industry and commerce minister of the then national assembly the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali in thousand years had raised a bill on Film Development Corporation. Subsequently the bill was sanctioned and finally FDC was inaugurated. In 2012 the honorable prime minister Sheikh Hasina declared cinema as a National Industry. Since then National Film Day has been celebrated every year in the 3rd of April. Technical and financial assistance has been provided to the film makers since its inauguration. In the development and growth of the cinema industry, 600 million taka has given by the government launching digital equipments for making digital cinema leaving old analog systems behind.
