Bhutan Centre for Media and Democracy

Bhutan Centre for Media and Democracy (BCMD) was established in 2008. It is one of the first registered Civil Society Organisations in Bhutan. BCMD aims at nurturing democracy in Bhutan through civic engagement, public discourse, media literate citizens, and improving the standard of the existing media in the country. The centre works with a cross-section of society on issues that concern youth, citizenship, governance, media literacy, and education - using media as modus operandi to foster a culture of democracy.
