Biokarpet S.A. company founded in 1970 by Mr. Ioannis Kantonias producing wool carpets as the largest producer in Greece. In the 90s the company created its first subsidiary the Biojapan CO Ltd in order to promote its products to the international markets and founded the Albio Data S.A. currently involved within the IT sector. In 1993 Biokarpet S.A. acquired EXALCO S.A. company an aluminium industry which produces structural and architectural profiles with capabilities of powder coating and anodization. EXALCO S.A. plays a leading role in aluminium. sector. In 1997 Biokarpet S.A. created a series of domestic and international commercial stores by franchising and promoting the Biokarpet label. In 2000 the company acquired Persika S.A. a carpet producer industry. In 2001 and 2004 subsidiaries, EXALCO Bulgaria and EXALCO Romania were established respectively in order to directly serve the local markets.
