bObles

The story of bObles began in 2006, when Bolette Bldel, architect by profession, went on maternity leave with her first-born child. To her disappointment she found that childrens furniture were inadequate and uninspiring for her son, as most were merely miniatures of adult furniture. Together with her sister, Louise, designer by profession, an idea began to flourish: What if Bolette and Louise could create childrens furniture that would indulge childrens imagination through playing and learning while developing childrens motor skills? The idea of the tumbling furniture and bObles was born. The tumbling furniture is based on simple geometrically forms - cut in the shape of animals. The child is able to tumble, roll, balance, seesaw, rock, jump and gain bodily experience, which can serve as the foundation for further motor development while simultaneously functioning as furniture.
