Bowel Cancer New Zealand

Bowel Cancer NZ was created out of need. Immense need. Every one of us at the charity is dedicated to reducing the impact of bowel cancer. We do this by supporting those living with bowel cancer and their whanau; educating communities and raising awareness of bowel cancer symptoms; being the strongest voice advocating for nationwide screening; and funding research into treatments, and ultimately, a cure. Up until 2010, despite bowel cancer being the second biggest cancer killer in New Zealand, no one was advocating for bowel cancer or working to increase awareness of symptoms. So a group of bowel cancer survivors joined forces with industry experts and founded our much-needed charitable organisation. Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers in New Zealand and kills as many people as breast and prostate cancer combined. Yet its one of the most treatable cancers if its diagnosed early enough.
