BRAC University Chess Club (BUCHC)

In the beginning there wasnt any chess club in BRAC University. Chess was part of BRACU Indoor Games Club. The thought of establishing a CHESS Club came in Residential Semester from a lecturer of BIL, MD. Shams Ud Duha. In Residential Semester 37, a new RS activity was introduced- CHESS Activity. Considering the extremely good participation and great passion about CHESS from the students, MD. Shams Ud Duha thought of establishing a CHESS Club in BRAC University. Through the immense support from our Honorable Director of BIL (BRAC Institute of Languages) Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed and Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Saad Andaleeb and as MD. Shams Ud Duha as our club Advisor, BRAC University CHESS Club started its journey on 21st May, 2015 through a Grand Orientation Program with the attendance of the Director of BIL, Vice Chancellor, Director of CHESS Federation, Grand Master Niaz Murshed, Chairman and Faculties of different departments of BRAC University.
