British High Commission, Dar es Salaam

The High Commission represents the British Government in its relations with the Tanzanian Government and promotes British interests in Tanzania. High Commissioner, Diane Corner, arrived in Tanzania in February 2009 and her tasks are: to present British policies to the Tanzanian Government and people, to report and explain Tanzanian policies and views to the British Government in London, and to promote British interests. The High Commission is divided into the following Sections: 1. Political Section is responsible for political relations between the UK & Tanzania. The UK is committed to a strong partnership with Tanzania and tries to play a positive role in the countrys political and economic development. The UK and Tanzania work together in areas such as international law, human rights, good governance, and democracy. 2.
