Budapest City Diplomacy

Budapest City Diplomacy is the foreign affairs unit of Budapest City Hall. With a staff of 9, we work to advance the Hungarian capital citys international relations and implement green mayor Gergely Karacsonys foreign policy program. Our main action areas include lobbying the European institutions for sustainbility-related EU-funds for local governments, pro-active participation in progressive city alliances, and advancing Budapests sister-city relations. Together with Bratislava, Prague and Warsaw, we formed the Pact of Free Cities city network that advocates for liberal, progressive values and urban policies in Central and Eastern Europe.
