Burlington Humane Society

Burlington Humane was formed by members of the community in 1974. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping stray and abandoned animals in Burlington, Ontario. Each year we bring in approximately 700 strays, abandoned, and surrendered cats and dogs into the shelter so they can have a second chance at finding their forever home. We take the humane treatment of animals very seriously; we have always been and will always continue to be a no-kill animal shelter. An Independent Shelter The Burlington Humane Society is NOT affiliated with Hamilton/Burlington SPCA or the Burlington Animal Control Shelter. We are also not government-funded. Therefore, we operate solely on the donations made by the public. Volunteers are the heart of Burlington Humane Donating their time & love in various areas of the organization. We are very fortunate to have a strong group of over 300 volunteers who dedicate their time and talent to help us continue to improve Animal Care at our shelter
