Burnie Works is a community collective making change in the areas of education, employment, justice, and family wellbeing and is funded by Stronger Places, Stronger People implemented by the Australian Government, Department of Social Services in partnership with state and territory governments and 10 communities across Australia. The longer-term goal of Stronger Places, Stronger People is to interrupt the intergenerational cycle of disadvantage that is concentrated in particular communities around Australia, including Burnie in North West Tasmania
