Buta Insurance OJSC enjoys the 16 years of development history. Receiving its first license for insurance activity, in March 1996, Buta Insurance OJSC entered the Azerbaijan insurance market under the name of Anglo-Azerbaijan Insurance Company. Starting from 2000, she was renamed and continued its activity as Thames Insurance Group OJSC. Operating as a joint company, 51% of shares of Thames Insurance Group OJSC were owned by Azerbaijani residents and the rest 49% belonged to the residents of the UK. In 2005 and 2007, the Thames Insurance Group has been nominated as the best company of the year. In April 2012, the company has been purchased by companies appurtenant to NAB Group of Companies.
