The Montessori Philosophy and Method, conceived by Dr. Maria Montessori, presents a comprehensive view of the child as an integrated whole being. The Montessori Method includes individualized learning that allows the child to develop at his/her own natural rate of progress. The interaction of children of various ages and abilities is strongly encouraged, creating a positive learning and social environment. The fostering of self-esteem, self-mastery, imagination and a love of learning are primary goals of the Directress/teacher whose function is to guide and actively engage the child using hands on learning and physical movement.
