Camari Carnes is a family-owned company founded by Jose Camilo Mendonca, an agronomist who turned a long-held dream into reality. Camaris story began when Camilo, after 11 years as a sales supervisor in the fertilizer sector, decided to venture into his own business in the swine farming industry. Inspired by an article in Globo Rural magazine in the 1990s and motivated by the desire to return to his hometown, Camilo received a 19-hectare plot of land from his father in Cristais Paulista, Sao Paulo, where he started raising pigs in 1991. Today, Camari has a herd of over 1,200 breeding sows and facilities to house more than 25,000 animals. Camaris mission is to provide animal-based food products with food safety, respecting and valuing its employees and suppliers, while promoting sustainable development.
