Camp Kudzu Inc

Camp Kudzus mission is to educate, empower and inspire children, teens, and their families living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). There is no cure for type 1 diabetes; it will not disappear with age or a change in diet. Diabetes can hold life-threatening complications, such as heart disease, kidney failure, blindness, vascular disease, and depression. However, children who learn to take control and better manage their diabetes can reduce the risk of these difficulties. Thats where Camp Kudzu comes in as we like to say, until theres a cure, theres camp! During our year-round programs, campers make new friends who are also learning to manage their diabetes. They explore the world around them and learn that I can is much more powerful than I cant. Camp Kudzu is an environment created specifically for them, providing the ideal setting to learn life skills, develop self-esteem and gain a sense of independence and community.
