The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative Limited known as CAMPCO was found on 11th July 1973 at Mangalore, Karnataka, India. The key principles of this co-operative organization were to mitigate the sufferings of arecanut and cocoa growers in the states of Karnataka and Kerala. The company therefore set up a chocolate manufacturing plant in 1986 at Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka to consistently help the farmers.
